Michael Shaheen joined Compass Rehabilitation in the spring of 2016. He attended Aquinas College and Michigan State University and completed his Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree at Life University in Marietta, Georgia in 2014. Passionate about all facets of spinal health and personal well-being, Shaheen returned to offer chiropractic services in the Lansing area after a stint with Cardwell Chiropractic in Atlanta, Georgia.

Michael treats patients from infants through geriatrics with a variety of disorders by use of chiropractic care and Active Release Technique (ART) of the spine. He is one of few chiropractors in the area that is certified in ART and is proficient in Diversified, Thompson, Gonstead and Activator techniques.

Some tools Dr. Shaheen uses in the office are the Deep Muscle Stimulator (DMS), which uses percussion, mechanical vibrations that reach deep into the muscle tissue to stimulate proprioceptive functions with benefits of increased circulation, reduced pain, faster rehabilitation from injury, increased lymphatic flow, breaks up muscular scar tissue, reduced lactic acid build up, tissue regeneration, soft & active tissue release.

The ArthroStim is a handled instrument that aids the chiropractor in performing adjustments in a more conservative way by reducing the amount of force that is applied, which makes it easier to use on a wide variety of conditions and ailments.
