The Compass Rehabilitation Center offers physical therapy in a state-of-the-art 10,000 square foot facility in East Lansing, Michigan, featuring two fully equipped gyms and an expert team of therapists with advanced training in spinal rehabilitation, orthopedic injuries, neuromuscular disorders, sports medicine, pregnancy and postpartum issues, and more. Our therapists maintain open communication with all referring physicians to develop a customized and individualized treatment plan to speed your recovery. We offer one-to-one treatments combining a ‘hands-on’ approach with the latest in equipment to help you reach your rehabilitation goals. All therapy is performed under the supervision of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physicians.

Spine Rehabilitation

The Compass Rehabilitation Center therapy team offers years of expertise and advanced training in spinal rehabilitation. Our physical therapists work closely with Lansing Neurosurgery and on-site physical rehabilitation physicians to provide comprehensive, targeted care for all patients with spinal-related conditions, including:

Aquatic Therapy Rehabilitation

The Compass Rehabilitation Center offers a comprehensive aquatic therapy program with individualized treatment plans. Our healing aquatic environment features a large heated therapy pool, allowing patients an opportunity to safely rehab in a reduced weight-bearing environment, and a fully equipped locker room facility. The 16′ x 32′ pool has an average temperature of 88 degrees and is equipped with a bench with whirlpool jets allowing our patients to comfortably rest when necessary. Research supports exercise in a warm water pool for the following benefits:

  • Decreased swelling and joint pain
  • Improved cardiovascular function and endurance
  • Increased flexibility and range of motion
  • Improved muscle strength and tone
  • Improved balance and coordination
  • Reduced pain and stress with activities of daily living

You don’t have to know how to swim to use our pool. Most exercises are performed at chest height in water with feet on the floor and there are rails along the side for patients who want the extra support along with shallow steps and double rails to enter and exit. All Aquatic Therapy is performed under the supervision of specially trained therapists.
